The Delmonico I had was just one of the absolutely delicious items from the menu I had. My husband and I had a date night and since I'm such a history lover I begged to come here after following the renovation process through your Instagram page. So let me start from the beginning-
We started at the bar and my husband raved about his Moscow Mule, where as I got a strawberry mojito with freshly muddled mint. The bartender was so sweet and changed it up for me off the original menu of the apple pear mojito.
Next we headed to dine outdoors where there was music entertainment complimenting the mood overlooking Keuka Lake while enjoying the historic mansion. We ordered the calamari, ricotta fondue, and I got the lobster bisque. I've had more calamari in my day than I'd like to admit, but this calamari was probably in my top 10 of all time best. It tasted fresh and not the slightest bit rubbery, and the portion was generous for two. The ricotta fondue wowed my husband and I beyond belief. This item was to die for! The drizzled honey was the perfect compliment to the ricotta and the bread was fresh and hot and soft. The lobster bisque was delicious as well but I was hoping for some chunks of lobster in it. Nonetheless you could taste how homemade it was and the unique and savoring flavors a good lobster bisque has.
Next on to the main course- my Delmonico! It was cooked to an absolutely perfect medium rare, and I paired it with the hand made crab cake (very well executed and generous chunks of crab), and the bone marrow butter that knocked my socks off. Best part of all- they put these add ons on the side of the steak and not on top so I can eat it how I want to, so well done! Then my two sides of French fries and mushroom melange were simply perfect and delicious. The fries were crispy and hot and the mushrooms were large caps and tasted so well blended with the steak and bone marrow butter.
For dessert my husband ordered the house made cheesecake which was light and fresh- not dense like other cheesecakes. You could taste how fresh it was, and the presentation was equally matched. I had the flourless chocolate torte which wasn't as good as the cheesecake, but definitely hit my sweet tooth spot after a huge night out eating like champs!
A huge thank you to the hostess who was beyond sweet and gave us a tour of the grounds and showed us the beautiful rooms the mansion had to offer. I am blown away with the beauty of Esperanza, and hats off to the chef for an AMAZING dinner and to everyone there for making my first night out with my husband after having our 4th child a night to remember!! We will without question be back!
